MC competitors must be classified to progress in representative pathway and compete as a Cronulla Zone competitor at Sydney East PSSA CC championships.
Zone Team: The first 6 place getters in each division will represent Cronulla Zone at the Sydney East Cross Country Championships.

Each school may nominate 6 entries in each event.

Additional entries will be considered in cases of exceptional circumstances and meet Zone Selection Policy The results of a child competing ‘on invitation’ will not count to the school’s point score.

Each competitor may enter only one event.

All events conducted will be finals.

The orders given by the starter will be: “On your marks”; Gun.

MC start will also use flags ( White and Red for False start)

a. A competitor causing a false start will be warned for the first breach and may be disqualified for a second breach, at the discretion of the Convener.
b. Any competing athlete who jostles or obstructs another athlete, so as to impede his/her progress, shall be liable to disqualification from the event. -
Spikes are not permitted but footwear is compulsory.

Asthma medication is permitted to be taken during the course of the competitor’s event.

Parents, coaches and unauthorised persons are not allowed on the course. Once competitors are in the hands of the officials controlling the event, they must not receive any coaching or advice. Penalty: disqualification of the competitor at the discretion of the Convener.

Points will be awarded as follows:

a. In each event, the placings of the best 4 runners from each school will be added together.

b. A school failing to finish 4 runners in an event will be awarded last place +1 for the runners who fail to finish.

c. The school with the lowest point score at the end of the carnival is the winner.

Protests must be made in writing by the teacher in charge of the school team (Team Manager) to the Convener within 15 minutes of the first competitor crossing the finishing line. The Protest Committee shall consist of- Carnival Referee (if applicable), Carnival Convener, Assistant Convener and at least one member of the Cronulla Zone Executive. The Convener can modify or alter the
course due to safety concerns or weather constraints.
